Last night (Day 28) I had the privilege of spending the evening with a new friend and her three-year-old daughter. So what I created was time with friends: time for relationship. But I was mesmerized by this three-year-old's imagination and creativity.
In a matter of 3 hours she:
- Imagined the trash can was snapper turtle
- Imagined that this turtle needed trash to eat, not food
- Imagined that she had died her hair red
- Imagined that she had created her whole house in the corner of a room
- Imagined that she was a princess (who doesn't, though?)
- Imagined that she was a dancer
- Imagined that she was a mom and that her baby had it's own bedroom under the table
- Imagined that she was a flying through the world while watching a video of trees and mountains I took on my phone (This is the video that you can see below so you can imagine you are flying, too)
Can you imagine all these things in that amount of time?
This may be the life of all parents with toddlers, however how much imagination is packed in one short amount of time for one young girl! Certain that I can learn a lot about the possibilities of imagination and creating from kids.
