My days have been crazy with work. Not only have I been catching up at work (which is always a little harried) after a short vacation... I've also been working on freelance web development project this week. Although the work has been stimulating and interesting, I am just about frazzled! Last night I took a break and went to the U2 concert. It was not Restful! However it was awesome. Larger than life, really. I've never been a huge U2 fan-fan. But a concert experience like that one, phew. Pretty insane.
So, this was one of my views for the approximate 5 hours while the concert wasn't going on. Small space, among lots of people. It's probably one view hardly anyone else took a picture of (and 90,000 people with cameras means a lot of pictures), but above us and around us were lights, cameras, and action! So this is my creation for today: Experience.
On March 19 (yesterday) I created space more so than I created something tangible. But that may need to happen as I get started with my Thirty-Third year. I put some things aside, created lists and moved forward, lived the every-day life. So to reflect on my creating space I found these quotes to inspire the continuation of that "space-creating" in the hopes of more "other creating"...
Creativity is merely a plus name for regular activity. Any activity becomes creative when the doer cares about doing it right, or better. John Updike
I like the idea of blank spaces and that they get filled. I also like blank spaces that are allowed to be. Some kind of creative tension arises from the nothingness. Sandra Geller
All space is space in which to create. Eric Maisel
A painter is a choreographer of space. Barnett Newman
What art offers is space - a certain breathing room for the spirit. John Updike
The hardest thing is to make this little space for yourself where you can think and not get inundated with other stuff coming in. (Catherine Yass)
And I came upon my own quote while looking through these...
Creating space is necessary in creating and seeing. Once new space is created, you start seeing new ways to fill it with even more beautiful things than what was there before. But sometimes you bring back what was there... because you recognize it once again as beautiful. - megan e. evans
