Day 58: Mother's Day (and the start of "Watercolor Week")

This week I'm in Kentucky. Today I was with my mom and the rest of my family for Mother's Day. Here are some watercolor sketches-- the first more of a comic sketch, the second more (sort of) realistic. All this week I'll be watercoloring and capturing my visits and travels. Stay tuned...

Day 52: Little Houses, Watercolor Sketch Start

So, a few weeks ago I added a "Do you have an idea of what I should create?" form to the right hand side of this blog. (Yep, right over there -------->.)

Paul Soupiset (an illustrator and designer whose posterous and sketchbook illustrations I've been following, too) gave his suggestion:

an homage to or remembrance of the different houses you've lived in throughout your life.

So I've been thinking about it... and thinking about it. I started some sketches a few days ago and started an idea in watercolor, but it's not really finished yet. But here's pictures of some of the process so far...

And when it's finished Paul will get sent this original. Yep, that's the deal. If you give me a suggestion, and I use it, you get the finished product in your very own hands sent to your very own house. (So, still working on it, Paul... thanks so much for the suggestion!)

So why don't you make a suggestion, too.
